The term 'vitamin' is used to describe a certain type pf compose, of which the organism can't dispose, but which it cannot produce itself. Mainly, vitamins serve as catalyst for certain reactions in our body. If these catalysts are missing, like in the case of vitamins lack, the normal functions of the body are affected. The risk of diseases increases, therefore people need to complete their diet with vitamins and food supplements.
