Asperulae herba is a perennial herb that belongs to the Rubiaceae family. It is native to Europe, North Africa, and western Asia, and is commonly found in shady areas of deciduous forests.

Asperulae herba has been traditionally used to treat a wide range of ailments, including digestive issues, sleeplessness and stress. Additionally, it is sometimes employed to alleviate nerve pain (neuralgia), migraine, induce perspiration and loosen chest congestion. In addition, it can also increase urinary output which helps reduce water retention. Moreover, some may choose to apply sweet woodruff directly for skin conditions, lesions, vein disorders, haemorrhoids and inflammation.
